My son just turned 2. He is pretty tiny for his age and loves his crib, so we had planned on keeping him in there for a while longer. But tonight he was having a hard time falling asleep, I went to check on him and he had managed to pull his entire body up so he was kind of laying across the top railing. So I know I need to convert it into a toddler bed. He's a great sleeper, but he tends to need a few minutes to wind down even when he is super tired. Is he going to be up and down over and over again? Also, his crib converts to a toddler bed, but I don't know if it has a smaller railing for the front, do you think its better to use that one and buy a railing or just go to a toddler bed? Also, he never wants a blanket or pillow, just to sleep in his pjs holding his little blankie-do you think this will make it harder. I am really nervous about this, we went almost a whole year without sleep so now that things are going well we hate to rock the boat, but know its necessary for safety. Please advise and thanks in advance!!

I've seen a lot of pictures of these beds and all of the ones I've seen have a purple boat bottom, yellow poles and a green roof (see picture below). However, I read a post from someone a few years back that describes hers as having a brown boat bottom, yellow poles and a red roof. The one a few yrs back was plastic not wood, it was like the little tikes racecar bed. ~thank you for your responses

I have a 19 mo old daughter, I normally warm her milk, lay down with her in a dark room & wait til she falls asleep which could be anywhere from 20 min to over an hour! I'm almost 8 months pregnant & I'm getting exhausted of this process & soon with another baby on the way, this won't be a practical way of putting her down for the night. Every night I keep thinking there has to be a better way! :/ I feel like I totally missed the boat on this one & now I have her use to falling asleep in my arms. Please help! Thank you.

I do not want to rush her, but with a new baby on the way I feel it would be better to have her sleep in a new bed before the baby arrives. I do not want her to feel like the baby is taking over so to get in her in a new bed now seems best. Her sister started sleeping in a toddler bed at 16 months old, but Blair does not sleep anywhere but her crib. She will not even sleep in bed with me. She only sleeps and naps in her crib. I have set up a toddler bed in the same room as her sister and only a few times have I tried to put her in it to sleep. But when I do she cries and cries and just sits there until I get her and the most recent time she just got up and left it completely. I am not looking for a lecture or anything negative, just some advice from others who have maybe been in the same boat as I am in. Thank you.

Okay so we are having another baby and are waiting till the end of 2010 to buy a bigger house. Currently we have a nice sized 2 bedroom house and we are pregnant with our second kid. So I was just trying to find crib bedding that would go well with a toddler set. Something that is the same as the crib bedding or similar to it. So the bedroom can match, you know? I would really like something neutral. Currently its a dark red dark blue theme with sail boats. Witch I love but I want to make sure it stay coed just in case this baby is a girl.

He will often be rubbing his eyes and yawning but still talk to himself for a while but we don't leave him there when he isn't tired.
