What is it about canopy/four-poster beds and roses that remind people of vampires?
Is it just me? When I see a canopy/four-poster bed, I think "vampire." Could it have something to do with the fact that Stoker wrote Dracula in the Victorian/late Victorian era? And those are usually the kind of beds they used back then.

thats a good reason, also in alot of the vampire movies (older ones, like from the 80s and 90s ie:interview with a vampire) they always had those big victorian poster beds....the roses i think are beacause of the deep red color, kindof like the symbolism for blood. and the rose is beautiful, but has dangerous thorns, like the vampire is beautiful or handsome but is also dangerous.
Yes...I was going to answer this question with a very similiar "Victorian Era" that you mention answer. It seems as if you've answered your own question! Interview with the vampire also.. ;)
