What type of beds should I buy for my toddler and newborn???
I have a toddler and I am getting ready to have a new baby. My toddler has a toddler bed but the room is small and I want something that would accomodate both. Is there any bed system sort of like bunk beds out there that would be good for there age differnce?? That they could grow with??

I wanted to put my child in our room for the first little while so we bought one of those pack and plays its a bassinet type then can convery into a playpen they also come with a changing table that holds wipes and diapers. Then when ever you go somewhere you can fold and go. Its awesome!! look them up
Congrats on the new baby!
I think, though, that you're going to be stuck with two spaces for a while, because the needs of toddlers and newborns are so very different. Newborns need all the security and supports they can get, as I'm sure you remember from all those Mommy classes and books you inhale while pregnant, but bassinets don't take up all that much space. We even kept our daughter's bassinet in our room for about 3 months before moving her into the nursery.
I only have the one child, but I did grow up with a lot of siblings. One thing I can tell you is that if your toddler hasn't gone through the "I want to roam the house at night" phase, he soon will. He will crawl out of his bed many times during the night and be into everything! And even if he/she and your new baby are good pals, he'll still want to mess with your new baby while it's trying to sleep. This adds up to cranky baby and not much sleep for you!
Also from a safety standpoint, your toddler may wake up and want to "play" with his new sibling, and can pull him out of bed, turn over the crib or bassinet or even smother him accidentally.
This might possibly be the world's longest answer on this subject! I know you want the children to grow together and cohabitate in a shared (though small) space, but depending on the age difference, it may not be a good idea. If your toddler is 2 or under, you can probably move them in together as soon as your new baby is out of the delicate "newborn" stage. If the age gap is a bit bigger, and your toddler is, say, four years old, then it might be safer and less stressful for everyone involved for the children to have their own space.
I hope this helps!

Well, for my 2 year old, she has a 3 in 1 crib....she has been using it since she was a new born and now it converted into the toddler bed. Get your baby a 3 in 1 crib and you can get your toddler the toddler bunk beds and maybe you can get them both in wood so they match...it's up to you and good luck!
You can get a beds for kids where the bed is raised and there is nothing underneath. Generally people put a desk or something under there but I don't see why you couldn't put a crib under there.
It would probably be easier just to put the crib in your room though. You don't want the toddler and newborn waking each other constantly.
