They need to start from the ground up and continue moving that way. I say firstly scratch the GM who has been making all these terrible draft, trade and FA decisions. Find a solid GM who knows how to rebuild a team, instead of just salary dumping. Secondly, get a legit head coach. Kiki hasn't shown that he has the leadership to run a team. Thirdly, the team does not need another playmaker they need a player who is a leader. Devin Harris, Brook Lopez, Courtney Lee are all great players and they also have very promisiing young players (CDR) but all of this talent needs someone to step up and lead them. It is apparent Harris won't and no one else on the team is really built for the leader role. They need a leader even if he isn't the best player anymore.

The Nets have talent. They just need a superstar to lead them. The core players that the Nets have are solid in building a contender. I say the Nets just need to draft a star PG (I'm hoping for John Wall) and hopefully lure one of the superstars to NJ. I know LeBron might bolt Cleveland if they cant make it to the finals.

They need a superstar leader. They need to get somebody from the summer free agent bonanza sweep stakes. There's alot of huge names on the menu, LeBron "The King" James, D-wade, Chris Bosh, Amare stoudamire, Joe Johnson, David Lee, T-Mac, David Lee and many many more.

You can include Carlos Boozer just in case Utah gives him up.

they need to change their whole team

The Nets are allot better then there record. They always come out strong but they just cant finish I think what they need to do is set a different rotation to save energy for the end of the game. Also they need to get a key player someone that can make allot of plays. Maybe Durant? lol never know thanks for the question.

They need some version of a go-to-guy and some depth. Harris and Lopez are both all-star caliber and young, so they have pieces, but they really need a prime-time scorer and they desperatley need versatile guys coming off the bench.

They need a go to guy.

They already are a contender.
If they can get a win or two in March then they are right back in the playoff race.

they should start all over again. they should think what is their clear plan for the future. building a competitive team is not an overnight task. they should add more veteran and young talent. make a major move in summer by acquiring star players
