What do you think about loft beds?
I am a junior in highschool and tomorrow I'm going to ikea to look at bed frames. I think a loft bed would be really neat, but would it be too childish? Im thinking of this one
http://www.ikea…
Also, it says the mattress should only be 8 inches high but mine is about 10.5. Do you think this would be a big issue? And are they a pain to get into and out of? Do you think I will get sick of it after like a week? Thanks so much!

Loft beds are a great idea because they free up valuable floor space that can be used for storage, a desk or other items. I don't think you will get bored with it and it's not childish if you use the right combination of bedspread and pillows. The only really difficulty I see is that you may not enjoy making the bed.
Loft beds are a good idea if U do not have much floor space in your room. The extra 2.5 inches might mean that the mattress will not fit the frame properly or that U will be more likely to bang your head on the ceiling. Ask the sales people. Put a computer desk down below & tell people it is your home office. Adults have home offices. If U frequently get "sick" of new things in a short time yeah U will get sick of the loft bed. If U ever slept in a bunk bed that will tell U how easy or hard it will be for U to get in & out of one. Also try getting in & out of one at the store. Lots of luck with your redecorating.
COOL BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you will love it and here is why....
You do not have to have a bed in the way all the time. You can use that space under the bed for a computer or desk of some sort....
or put a couch under there and make a lounge for you and your friends.
As far as climbing in and out of the bed... nah...
you won't get tired of it.
As long as it isnt too high where you konk your head on the ceiling.
I think the bed you picked out is great.
Loft beds are a fun and practical idea. I had one in colllege (in the dorm and then brought it to my apartment) and it saved me a ton of space. You may hit your head a few times in the begining, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

Plus, you can bring it to college w/ you (if that's your route) and save a ton from the college's prices on their lofts.
Bunk beds might be a little childish, if your younger brother is sleeping below you...but a loft bed is cool, definitely cooler than your bed taking up all your floor space. The recommended mattress height is for safety; if your mattress is two and a half inches taller that means you might lay above the railing a bit, more prone to falling off. If you're prone to falling out of bed, however, you've probably got problems that a railing can't fix :)

I'd recommend the Mörrum bed as it seemed to be a lot sturdier than the Trömso, and it has wooden slats instead of wire mesh. Be sure to compare the different models.

And climbing the ladder is good exercise, and helps wake you up in the morning.
