Are loft beds sturdy enough to have sex on?
I am considering bulding a loft bed in my room because I need more space. Rough sex is more important to me than more space so I need more information. If anyone has any experience with having sex on a loft bed please share. Thanks a bunch!

my college roommate had no problems. She bought off another students when they moved out of dorm.

It was made out of wood DIY style.
LOL ya you should be good!!! this is a really funny question!!!
There is nothing wrong with rough hard sex.Just be sure there is plenty of support underneath and don't get carried away and roll out of it into the floor. The landing could be too hard and cause you to lose interest. What a bummer that would be !!!.
I'd build it with carriage bolts or similar fasteners so the whole structure will flex somewhat under stress. This will prevent the wood splitting or stripping out the screws under "load". Also, get a flat spring (like a two dimensional box spring) to put under the mattress instead of just laying the mattress in the loft. This adds structural rigidity to the bed and keeps lateral movement from pushing it out of square.

I made the mistake of setting up my European solid wood canopy bed with the mattress on slats instead of a box spring or flat spring. Worked great until I started dating a big athletic younger guy with a lot of energy, if you catch my drift. The bed got rocking so hard it stripped out the bolts in one side of the headboard. I had to take it apart and reinforce it. Got a box spring after that and no more troubles.
