Does anyone know about platform beds?
My husband and I are looking for a platform bedroom set. We're looking online because he is in Iraq right now. We found one we like, and the store is based out of state so I can't just walk-in and ask.
But I e-mailed the furniture store, where I want to purchase the furniture, and asked if there is a specific type of mattress for this type of bed. They look much thicker than regular mattresses (because there is no box-spring). They told me just to get a regular mattress. Is this true?

We had a platform bed for years that came with our house. We just had a regular mattress on it, no need for more. (There's storage under there, too!)
The previous owners bought a kit and built it in the attic bedroom without considering the once they glued it, it could not be removed through the narrow staircase.
