Can anyone recommend a hotel with four poster beds and open log fires in the UK for a honeymoon in
Preferably Somerset/Devon or thereabouts! Thanks

Look at booking.com They have reviews from guests as well as information on the hotels. The prices are great too.
Sorry this is not in the UK but in the Republic of Ireland but it fits the bill. Castle Leslie in Co. Monaghan. It has big rooms, open fires, no phones or tv in rooms, four poster beds, nice lake and grounds and excellent food. Paul McCartney got married there to Heather (but dont let that put you off!!)

Have a good honeymoon.
This link is really good and shows a lot of accurate reviews.
I've posted a link for each below. Hope this helps.

For Somerset, I like the sound of The Old Priory, The Bath Lodge Hotel, Ayrlington Hotel, they got the best reviews for Somerset. Devon has many well-praised ones also.

I haven't stayed in these myself, but every time I've checked this site for hotels our group has stayed in, ones I do know well, the customer ratings have been spot on. Good idea to note how recently they were posted; hotels change over time, sometimes for the better, sometimes not! (Ireland is a lovely choice also, but do bear in mind that you will have to cope with the euro currency also - some British tourists do find that difficult to do.)

Best wishes, and have a lovely honeymoon!
Have you considered Northern Ireland. We stayed here at the Bushmills Inn and it was glorious!!!

Hi Yoyo, look, I haven't been to any of these places but a quick search on the net yielded these results ( I had nothing better to do!). The rooms look rather nice and your question brought out....the romantic in me! Most of the time I'm a miserable git.

Jamaica Inn on Bodmin moor, in Cornwall, It's where we went to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and it was romantic, haunted, and steeped in smuggling history, and lots of gorgeous places like Lerryn, Polperro, Looe,Polruan, and Fowey, to visit nearby.Look it up on the website. It's worth an extra hour drive.
